There will still be some lightwash from the top of the curtains – although the “blackout” effect achieved is likely better with Eyelets than standard Curtain Rings on a Pole, since the curtains sit higher. Eyeletted Curtains will not give Total Blackout. “Blackout” lining will certainly give a dimming effect. What level of “blackout” would you require in your bedroom ?
